Ginz Cuban Cavorting

Welcome to our Cuban holiday blog. We set off on this trip at the end of the month. It's a trip that has had a couple of false starts but at the time of writing all conditions are positive and systems go! That said, Rexy hasn't twigged yet that we are going, so pooch could throw a last minute spanner in the works.....it's happened before!!

Why Cuba? It's been a fascination of mine since reading about the American Mafia influence in the country back in the 50's, then reading more about the country's history, politics, its icy standoff with the USA and relations with Russia.

Yes the cars have something to do with it but it is more about fascination with a country caught in a time-warp, so much glorious history and now so much decay. But there is the music, the dancing, the carribeann beaches, the bars and nightlife, the cigars and Havana Rum. Oh and getting there before America turns it into a theme park,

And just as a little aside, Gina will be celebrating a milestone birthday too whilst we are there.

So we'll try and keep you amused, interested and excited as we post, but for us this is about capturing our memories and being able to look back at life's adventures.

So the itinerary is loose at the moment. We know when we arrive and depart, the rest we will make up as the adventure takes us.
